Who we are

This policy explains how BitBop ("we", "us") handles personal information on this website. BitBop operates from the United States (30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801) and Pakistan (FF-14, Zarpar Arcade, D-12, Islamabad). [Legal entity names to confirm: which entity operates this website and contracts with visitors in each country.]

You can reach us at ask@bitbop.co.

What this policy covers

This policy covers this marketing website only. Our products, including X-Ed and XAM, have their own terms and privacy notices. Where we process an institution's data, including students' data, through a product, that processing is governed by the agreement with the institution and not by this page.

Information we collect

What you give us

If you email us or book a meeting with us, we receive what you choose to share: typically your name, email address, organisation, and the contents of your message.

Contact form

The form on our homepage sends your name, email address, organisation (if you give one), what your message is about and the message itself to our customer records system, with the address of the page you sent it from and any campaign tags in that address. We use them to reply to you. If you tick the box for news, we also record that choice and its wording. [Confirm the retention period for enquiries, and name SuperHero (BitBop's own system, hosted on Fly.io) as where they are stored.]

Booking

The "Talk to Us" button takes you to our booking page at coffee.bitbop.co, where you choose a time to meet. Details you enter there are used to arrange and hold the meeting. [Confirm the scheduling provider and where it stores data.]

Technical data

Like most websites, our hosting provider may log standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. We use it to run and secure the site. [Confirm hosting provider and log retention. This site moves to Google Firebase Hosting.]

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. [Update this section if analytics are added.]

Fonts

This website loads its typeface from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google, which may receive your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy for how it handles that information. [No longer true on the new site: it serves its own copy of the typeface and does not contact Google Fonts. Remove or reword before launch.]

How we use information

• To reply to your messages and arrange meetings.
• To run, secure and improve this website.
• To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and handle enquiries, such as hosting, email and scheduling, and only as needed for those services. We may also share information where the law requires it, or as part of a sale or restructuring of the business.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. In our products we treat children's data with particular care: each institution's data is kept separate from every other institution's.

International transfers

We operate in the United States and Pakistan, and our providers may be located elsewhere, so information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers. [Confirm safeguards.]

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry and meeting information for as long as we need it to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards [confirm retention period], then delete or anonymise it unless the law requires us to keep it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email ask@bitbop.co. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
